Skipping into Spring was commissioned by the Spring 2019 Fairview Elementary School Intermediate Violin Ensemble. During the spring semester of the previous year (2018), the town of Bloomington Indiana seemed to not have gotten the memo that Spring is in between winter and summer. Clear through may the temperature was below freezing and then suddenly shot up to 90º F in June. This song was a plea for a spring in 2019. One might image skipping through a park on a warm spring day.
